Group Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
Entrance 2020

I received my BSc in Computer science from Golestan university in 2010. In the next year, I was accepted into the department of Computer science, Tarbiat Modares University as an M.Sc. student. I graduated from Tarbiat Modares University under the supervision of Dr. Yousef Jamali and Dr. Fateme Zare (Amirkabir University of Technology) in 2014. In my MSc, I was interested in Bioinformatics and Biological data analysis. This interest helped me to begin my first research project on biological data mining (Protein-Protein Interaction network analysis) at Tarbiat Modares University. It made me decide to follow the Bioinformatics in the Institute of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics (IBB), the University of Tehran as a Ph.D. student. In my Ph.D. I collaborated with Aarhus University in Denmark to study an RNA-Seq dataset from 476 samples of early-stage bladder cancer in order to predict novel candidate biomarkers and the results were published in the Scientific Reports journal. I continued biological data analysis researches for 5 years and finally, I graduated with a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Ali Masoudi-Nejad and Prof. Ali Moeini in Jun 2019. After a year of cooperation with Amirkabir University of Technology and Sharif University as a lecturer and researcher, I moved to the UK and joined the Medical College of the University of Exeter. Now I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Complex Disease Epigenetics Group at the medical college of the University of Exeter. My main background is Biological Network and Omics data analysis. I am also interested in Graph Theory and Algorithms, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and their application in Bioinformatics.
